The Curious Case of Agatha Christie
By Lavinia Roberts (3rd Year MFA Playwriting Student)
Directed by Susan Patrick-Benson
Friday, December 4, 1926, famous crime novelist Agatha Christie goes missing. Avid mystery novel fan, and aspiring journalist at lady’s magazine Gentlewomen’s Gazette, Helen Casewell, feels pigeonholed, carrying cups of tea and writing housekeeping articles. Helen dreams of covering criminal investigations and other grittier topics. She sets out to uncover the truth behind Agatha Christie’s disappearance, in the hopes of forging a career as a reporter.

Perdy is an amateur sleuth, podcasting from her basement while trying to solve a 200-year-old mystery, if only these strange, dead women, and her pesky mom, would just leave her alone long enough to do it.

Mac has a chance to finally be themselves. All they have to do is come up with enough money to get top surgery and they can finally love the skin they are in. The only problem is... their Dad is the only person that can loan it to them, and they aren't on the best terms. Can the death of their grandmother bring them together, or will their lies and unacceptance ruin their chance at happiness?

December 1862. The American civil war has begun. Louisa May Alcott has experienced some success writing sexy thrillers under pseudonyms, but longs for life experiences to fuel her writing. They young abolitionist enlists and is called to duty as a nurse in Union Hotel Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Elijah is broken by his job, and distanced from his family by a deep technological divide. As a way to bridge the gap, he casts them in a production of Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya. But, putting on a play in the Plains proves a strange and difficult endeavor, especially since theatre has been long forgotten.

After a fatal collision with a motorcyclist, Gabby leaves Boston in search of peace and employment in northern Vermont. During her first assignment at a small-town paper, she discovers that everyone must face their own demons. For some, running is not an option.

José and Carlos are business partners at Salón Alacrán, a dance hall in Texas that produces events for the local Mexican population. Money begins mysteriously disappearing from the venue’s nightly till, and Carlos becomes the suspected culprit. Will José and Carlos be able to work together or will this tear the business apart?

John Kent is a former spy in Elizabethan England who's out of a job. Now he's after a legendary lost pirate treasure. His only clue to finding it lies with Erin Killian, a mysterious Irishwoman who's older than she looks. They must learn to trust each other if they're to survive against pirates, murderous religious fanatics and an army of the Undead.

Stabbed through her chest on her wedding night, Nastasya Filippovna, the heroine of Dostoevsky’s novel The Idiot, recounts her experiences within and outside of the book to unearth why she was destined to die on the happiest night of her life and why those answers plague her in the afterlife.
